How Does a Spiral Comics Subscription Work?
On our setup page, you tell us specifically-- or generically-- what characters/creators/genres you're interested in, and each month we send you a link to your very own highly customized Order Confirmation Page where you can pre-order upcoming comic books from a multi-sectioned recommendations list that matches your interests with freakish accuracy. You prepay for this order to get the best discounts we can offer. When these comic books are published (approximately) two months later, we ship them to you. Enjoy. Rinse. Repeat.

You'll get an email at the beginning of each month when your customized Order Confirmation Page is ready. All of our web pages are mobile friendly, so you can manage your subscription with a smartphone! You can visit your customized Order Confirmation Page any time before the monthly deadline and check out in a flash. We'll send a reminder as the monthly order deadline approaches if you haven't placed an order, but there is no obligation.

Comic books from the major publishers (Marvel, DC, Image) are typically 35% off the cover price. Comic books from other publishers are up to 30% off. Shipping is $4.00 for the first item, and $0.75 for each additional item, up to a maximum of $13.75. (We collect sales tax for Washington state shipping addresses.)
Why subscribe with Spiral Comics?
We keep two lists for you, Subscription Titles and Subscription Interests. Your Subscription Titles list can contain any actual comic book title from our database. New titles are added to our database as they are listed for publication. Your Subscription Interests list can be populated from any tag in our database. We have hundreds of tags in areas such as comic book characters, teams, writers, artists, genres, cover variant groupings, and much more!
We meticulously tag each comic book each month so our algorithm will generate a highly customized multi-section recommendations list for you. We'll also recommend any upcoming comic book from a series that you've previously purchased from us. Your lists will be great from the start, but as the months roll on, you'll be able to fine-tune your lists to perfection.
Your Highly Customized Order Confirmation Page
Each month, you'll get your very own customized Order Confirmation Page with multiple recommendations sections. The First Section has recommendations based on what you've previously purchased with us and on specific titles you have in your Subscription Titles list. The Second Section will have recommendations based on your Subscription Interests list.
The flexibility is off the scale! For example, if you add the AMAZING SPIDER-MAN to your Subscription Titles list and add the SPIDER-MAN FAMILY tag to your Subscription Interests list, then when Marvel inevitably changes AMAZING SPIDER-MAN to {insert some other ADJECTIVE here} SPIDER-MAN, it won't show up in the First Section, but it will still be recommended in the Second Section. In the meantime, you'll also see in the Second Section any new Spider-title that comes out for your consideration.
But there's more! If you like everything written by Robert Kirkman, but for some unfathomable reason don't like The Walking Dead, you can add ROBERT KIRKMAN (W) to your Subscription Interests list and exclude WALKING DEAD from your Subscription Titles list. That's right, your list can have exclusions...adding another whole magnitude of flexibility! In this case, your Order Confirmation Page will still include INVINCIBLE and OUTCAST (written by Kirkman) in the Second Section, but not WALKING DEAD. And this part is neat...your customized Order Confirmation Page will tell you in a special Third Section that WALKING DEAD has not been recommended and why! A final Fourth Section of non-recommendations will contain anything you have clearly excluded on either of your lists, if you want to see it. (Why would you want to see them? I can't imagine, but I am thinking about tracking the most despised comics by our users, as well as the most liked.)
Nothing is duplicated in any of these multiple sections of your customized Order Confirmation Page. It's all sectioned for you based on how only the most logical fans think about comic books. Be logical.
What Else is on Your Highly Customized Order Confirmation Page?
Variant covers have become commonplace with comic books. Your customized Order Confirmation Page will list the main cover for each comic book, but it will also tell you if there are variant covers available, and you can choose from them as well if you want to see them. Finally, the First Section of your recommendations will not list Trade Paperbacks that meet your interests, but they will be included for your consideration in the Second Section. As always, you choose only the books you want to buy.
Be assured you are seeing everything for pre-order in any given month that even remotely meets your listed interests, but there is never any obligation to buy anything!
