John Tyler Christopher Star Wars Action Figure variants made to look like vintage carded action figures. Christopher's very first of these variants for STAR WARS [2015] #1 created a convergence of massive demand (from comic book collectors, toy collectors, and Star Wars collectors) that started not only an enduring line of these Star Wars Action Figure variants, but also a genuine trend of variant covers made to look like all sorts of blister-packed action figures throughout the comic book industry. Then, in a pioneering move by an artist, Christopher has even commissioned himself for exclusive variants of occasional issues which he sells via his own webstore. He creates contemporary characters made to look like they were produced in the vintage era--as an homage--as he seemingly works his way through all the actual vintage-era figures. Each cover takes about 40 hours to create.
