For Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) in 2006, Wizard Magazine (part of the now defunct print arm of Wizard Entertainment) produced a comic-sized pamphlet listing the top 100 trade paperbacks of all time. It's an ostentatious title and guaranteed to invoke fan controversy. However, there is no denying there are many great trade paperbacks on the list... And even if one thinks their favorite should have made the list, that shouldn't necessarily take away from the list's inhabitants. If you're looking for a place to start, this list is surely dated, but many are still universally considered tops. The list contains predominantly 'super-hero' entries (as was the makeup of the market at the time), but there are also entries from across various other genres. It should also be noted that this is a list of trade paperbacks available in 2006, and although compilations are more commonplace now, this is not a list of the best 'stories' of that day.
