After Disney acquired Lucasfilm, the Expanded Universe was relegated to 'Legends' and effectively made non-canon. The NEW CANON began in 2014 with a clearly defined list of which live-action films, animated series and novels were carrying over to this New Canon. Marvel's relaunch of the Star Wars comic book line is squarely and completely in the New Canon. IDW's line of all-ages Star Wars Adventures comic books launched in late 2017 are also technically in the New Canon. However, not all of these stories are 'true'--if that makes any sense. Some or portions of some are just 'stories.' Sounds just like 'Legends' to me, but then I'm not a marketing genius.
