Titan Books took over printing of the American novel imprint, Hard Case Crime, in 2011 and began publishing associated comic book adaptations in 2016. The novels--and any subsequently branded comic adaptations--are hardboiled crime stories consisting of both reprints of paperback crime novels from the 1940's and 50's and original material in this same noir-ish genre. Both the novel and the comic covers typically feature illustrations done in a style familiar from the golden age of paperbacks.
