The MARVEL MILESTONES (2005-2006) were a series of (nearly all) one-shot reprints from Marvel featuring a truly eclectic mix of publishing milestones, with an emphasis on some of the more obscure Marvel heroes. Each issue features two or three different origins or introductions of characters loosely strung along a similar genre vein. The 2005 editions sported a silver border around a reprint of a reduced-size cover with a large 'MARVEL MILESTONES' banner at the top. The 2006 editions bore just a gold 'MARVEL MILESTONES' medallion on a reprint of a full-size cover, indicating they were part of the series. While all the other issues were one-shots, the 'X-MEN AND STARJAMMERS' issues were a mini-series of two. The previous MARVEL MILESTONE EDITIONS (1991-1999) had already reprinted the first appearances of the most iconic Marvel characters.
