Jack Kirby created the original OMAC, Buddy Blank, the One Man Army Corps, in 1974. OMAC received great strength and information beamed in the form of energy from the Brother Eye satellite, which a group of aliens called the Global Peace Agency (GPA) put in orbit to prevent the Great Disaster in the 21st Century. He battled threats for years for the GPA. In one hypertimeline, OMAC prevented the Great Disaster. In another timeline, he failed and beast-men overran the Earth. In that timeline, OMAC's grandson would be Kamandi, the Last Boy on Earth. Greg Rucka reimagined the OMACs in the OMAC PROJECT [2005] mini-series. These OMACs are cyborgs created from Brainiac-13's nanotechnology to assassinate all beings with superpowers. These OMACs are controlled by the Brother MK I satellite, which was created by Batman and programmed by a scientist named Buddy Blank. The DC heroes' struggle against the Brother MK I satellite and its OMACs was depicted in the INFINITE CRISIS event, with shreds of the program lasting until the FINAL CRISIS and even beyond with an OMAC named ReMAC.
