The IDW ARTISAN EDITION series of softcovers/hardcovers is presented with the same exacting quality standards as IDW's award-winning ARTIST'S EDITION series (which reproduce artwork scanned from the original bristol boards), just at a smaller size. While appearing to be in black and white, the pages are printed in color to show the blue pencil notations, corrections, and white-out. Content scope can vary with these editions. Some reproduce a significant source issue in its entirety. Some editions are art books collecting pages across multiple source issues, and some editions are compilations of several whole issues.
