XENOGENESIS was a crossover event storyline from Dark Horse in 1999-2000 that only loosely bridges between the Aliens, Predator and AVP comic lines. Mostly criticized negatively by fans, it was a departure--not just in format, but also in art style--from the regular treatment of the constituent comic lines and possibly contributed to the decade-long hiatus that all three of the primary comic book lines went on immediately afterwards. (Out-of-continuity cross-property cross-overs and a few movie tie-in issues were all that were published during the hiatus.) With the secret of the Aliens out, a mega-corporation forms the Strikeforce to exterminate the Aliens. An equally aggressive team of mercenaries and ex-heroes forms the group Spearhead--to hunt the Predators. Meanwhile, a couple with corporate espionage on their minds get caught between a Predator hunting an Alien.
