ATLANTIS ATTACKS was a major cross-over event storyline in 14 parts that ran through nearly all of the Marvel annuals in 1989 with a few tie-in issues in regular series. The story involves the return of the seven-headed serpent god Set. Unlike its format predecessor, THE EVOLUTIONARY WAR (which ran through the annuals in 1988), the ATLANTIS ATTACKS storyline is a serial story. Each annual also contained part of a 14-part backup story detailing the history of the Serpent Crown. The entire story was collected in an omnibus in 2011.
