The RETAILER REPRESENTATIVE PROGRAM (RRP) (aka Retail Rountable Program) is a retail focus group founded and managed by DC Comics with somewhere between 75-100 retailers from around the world covering a broad spectrum of comic store types and retail models. At many RRP meetings, an RRP variant cover of a recent DC comic book issue is sometimes distributed to the member retailers. These are some of the rarest of variant covers (in terms of supply vs. demand) and can command high prices on the secondary market since they were never available on the primary market. The acronym is sometimes incorrectly applied generically to variants given at any meeting of retailers, but technically an RRP variant is one distributed only at an actual RRP meeting. To compound the confusion, Dynamite Entertainment has published RETAILER REWARD PREMIUM (RRP) variant covers for some of their books with the RRP acronym blazoned on the cover.
