A series of themed covers across Marvel's entire series line published in September 1986 (with cover dates of November 1986) with the same frame of small Marvel characters drawn around the edge of the front cover to celebrate their 25th anniversary. The main, center image is a character portrait. These covers are not considered variants since the theme was applied to the main--and most often, only--cover for the issues. (1986 was well before the contemporary days of rampant variants and incentives.) Although the company pre-existed, the 25th year refers back to the adoption of the name Marvel Comics in 1961.
