ANT-MAN AND THE WASP [2018] #1

This is not the same Wasp that will be in the second MCU movie, so don’t get confused. It’s not confusing at all. Just sit back and enjoy the story from Mark Waid. Cool? Cool. “A NEW SERIES FROM MARK WAID and JAVIER GARRON. Wasp was just trying to help Ant-Man get home to Earth to see his daughter…but a little problem got in the way. Very little. Subatomic, in fact, as Scott Lang was lost in the vast spaces between atoms. Now, Nadia is his only hope of rescue…if only he would listen long enough for her to save them. From master storyteller Mark Waid (CAPTAIN AMERICA, CHAMPIONS) and Marvel Young Gun artist Javier GarrĂ³n (SECRET WARRIORS, STAR-LORD) comes […]

MAGIC ORDER [2018] #1

Here’s the first mini-series from Mark Millar under his new contract with Netflix for his Millarworld properties. Here we go. Anticipation is high. It begins. “We live in a world where we’ve never seen a monster, and The Magic Order is the reason we sleep safely in our beds. Magic meets the mob in THE MAGIC ORDER, as five families of magicians-sworn to protect our world for generations-must battle an enemy who’s picking them off one by one. By day, they live among us as our neighbors, friends, and co-workers, but by night, they are the sorcerers, magicians, and wizards that protect us from the forces of darkness…unless the darkness gets them first. MARK MILLAR’s first NETFLIX comic book, drawn […]

TOMB RAIDER: INFERNO [2018] #1

A nice-looking little mini that ties into video game and comic book canon. Parlaying off the success of a theatrical release, no doubt. “Trinity is on high alert-they know Lara Croft is coming and now, under the shrewd command of a new officer, they’re ready for any surprises, but Lara is steadfast in her quest to uncover their secrets. Though typically equally prepared, this time Lara may just find herself one step behind. Perfect for new and existing Tomb Raider fans. Artist Phillip Sevy returns to Tomb Raider. ‘Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly have done a wonderful job tying this comic book in with the Tomb Raider canon from the video games and previous Dark Horse comic series.’ -AiPT.” Buy […]

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN: FAMILY BUISNESS [2018-TPB]

Hey, Spidey fans! This original graphic novel is all-new material, not a compilation of previously published stuff. It’s from Mark Waid and Gabriele Dell’Otto, so it’s going to be good! “Someone has Spider-Man in their crosshairs, and the only person in the Marvel Universe who can save him is…Peter Parker’s sister? As the web-slinger meets family he never knew, will she end up becoming his greatest ally, or the one who damns him? And what does the Kingpin of Crime have to do with it? This self-contained graphic novel – written by Eisner Award-winner Mark Waid (DAREDEVIL) and acclaimed author James Robinson (Superman), and painted by the legendary Gabriele Dell’Otto (SECRET WAR) – brings you the web-slinger’s darkest hour…and greatest […]

DEADPOOL [2018] #1

Are you ready for a new DEADPOOL #1? Well, too bad. There’s a new movie out, so that’s just the way the world is, buttercup. “MERCIN’ FOR A LIVING. Skottie Young and Nic Klein bring you the craziest tales of the Regeneratin’ Degenerate yet. It’s been a while since Deadpool’s had to merc to make ends meet, but things are tough all over. While Deadpool tries to get his humble mercenary-for-hire business back off the ground, a catastrophic threat so unfathomably huge, so mind-breakingly cataclysmic it defies description, is heading toward Earth, and there’s only ONE PERSON WHO CAN STOP IT. Oh no, wait…it’s not Wade, is it? Oh, %$@#. It’s Wade. Parental Advisory” Buy It Now Interested in Getting […]

DISNEY PIXAR THE INCREDIBLES 2: HEROES AT HOME [2018-HC]

The first Incredibles movie was such a perfect mix of comedic satire about the superhero genre as well as a satisfying superhero story, I’m so very interested to see if Pixar can strike gold again with this franchise. “While their mom and dad-Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl-are both taking on new and very different jobs, Dash and Violet are doing their best to help out. First, Dash and Violet become sudden and secret superheroes when they interrupt criminal activity on a routine grocery trip to pick up some essentials. Then, helping out at home, their efforts to keep up on their chores are unknowingly obstructed by the innocent mischief of their little brother, Jack-Jack. Set during the events of Disney/PIXAR’s The […]

X-MEN: GOLD [2017] #30

J. Scott Campbell is one of my favorite cover artists. This wedding shot of Colossus and Kitty Pryde is spectacular! “‘TIL DEATH DO US Part 6 Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today for the ultimate union. After a lifetime of will-they-or-won’t-they, new boyfriends and ex-girlfriends, KITTY and COLOSSUS are finally walking down the aisle together… GUEST STARS GALORE IN THIS VERY SPECIAL MOMENT IN X-MEN HISTORY. IMMORTAL HULK [2018] #1

This is a seriously cool concept, bringing the Hulk back to his most basic ‘monster’ roots! Can’t wait to see where it leads. “HORROR HAS A NAME. You’d never notice the man. He doesn’t like to be noticed. He’s quiet. Calm. Never complains. If someone were to walk up and shoot him in the head… all he’d do is die. Until night falls. And someone else gets up again. The man’s name is Banner. The horror is THE IMMORTAL HULK. Rated T+” Buy It Now Related shopping tags: ALEX ROSS (CA), HULK, HULK (BRUCE BANNER), HULK FAMILY TITLES

LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN: THE TEMPEST [2018] #1

Don’t let the mediocre film cloud your judgment of this franchise. This is some of Alan Moore’s best work. Must read stuff. “After an epic twenty-year journey through the entirety of human culture, Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill conclude both their legendary League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and their equally legendary comic-book careers with the series’ spectacular fourth and final volume, ‘The Tempest.’ This six-issue miniseries is a celebration of everything comics were, are and could be. Opening simultaneously in the panic-stricken headquarters of British Military Intelligence, the fabled Ayesha’s lost African city of Kor and the domed citadel of ‘We’ on the devastated Earth of the year 2996, the dense and yet furiously-paced narrative hurtles like an express locomotive across […]
