Captain America Comic Book Cover

WELCOME Hello, comic fans! I just finished season 2 of Netflix’s Iron Fist. How about that epilogue!?! I’m excited to see where next season goes. It looks like the writers are leaning heavily on Fraction and Brubaker’s IMMORTAL IRON FIST series from 2007, which expanded greatly on the Iron Fist mythos. Speaking of expanding on a mythos, Boom! Studios now has the license for Serenity (Firefly) comics, and their first series will explore Mal and Zoe’s time as Browncoats. Historic! Can’t wait! And again this month, there are tons of brand new series being offered, including, but not limited to: ALIEN 3 (an adaptation of William Gibson’s unproduced screenplay), DR. HORRIBLE, GREEN LANTERN, SHAZAM!, SPIDER-MAN (an all-ages series from IDW!), […]

STAR WARS: HAN SOLO--IMPERIAL CADET [2019] #1

There’s still more to learn about Han Solo. This mini-series explores his time as an Imperial cadet. As you know, it didn’t turn out too well…pilot to mudtrooper is not upward movement. “YOUNG SOLO’S ADVENTURES CONTINUE. HAN SOLO escapes Corellia by joining the IMPERIAL NAVY, vowing to return for QI’RA. But how does a thief used to the chaos of the streets adjust to the order and discipline of the military? Not well. Han’s dream of becoming a pilot is quickly grounded as he realizes he may not even survive basic training. Rated T.” Buy It Now Interested in Getting Started In STAR WARS comic books? ELECTRIC WARRIORS [2019] #1

Unless you’ve got a deep knowledge of the DC Universe, you may not recognize the “Great Disaster” as the focal event for some of DC’s less well-known characters, Kamandi and OMAC, inhabiting an alternate timeline known as Earth-AD. Well, this new mini-series ties in to that alternate timeline. I know, mind-blowing, right? “A new tale of the future DC Universe, set in a previously unexplored timeline-the Cosmic Dark Age. Years after the Great Disaster, the Earth has started to rebuild and rejoin the universal coalition. In order to prevent a galactic war, different worlds throughout the known cosmos have created a new system of competitive combat to give each participating planet their own voice in the intergalactic struggle. Each world […]

GO-BOTS [2018] #1

By the law of conservation of transforming robots at IDW, if they stop producing Transformers comics, they will start producing Go-Bot comics. It is written. Actually, since Hasbro acquired Tonka, the Go-Bots were established as an alternate reality within the Transformers franchise. But Hasbro only owns the intellectual property. The robot toys are still owned by Bandai, who had them licensed to Tonka. Anyway, let’s see where this Go-Bot comic goes. “Go-Bots have changed our way of life. Leader-1 is a self-aware fighter jet on a hostage rescue mission with his partner, Commander Nick Burns. Scooter is the personal transport and best friend to undergrad A.J. Foster. Turbo is Matt Hunter’s transforming race car in the hottest sport in America, […]

LIGHTSTEP [2018] #1

I really like the look of this new science fiction mini-series from Dark Horse. “January Lee is of royal descent, part of the ruling class that lives out their lives on accelerated, ‘Lightstepped’ worlds where a single day is a lifetime on a normal planet. But her ‘holy ailment,’ which allows her to see the truth behind the Primogenitor’s lies, marks her for banishment to the outer worlds. This is the beginning of a fantastic tale of alien worlds, a star-spanning empire, and rogues and rebels seeking a weapon hidden in the transmission of a radio drama from Earth thousands of years ago.” Buy It Now Related shopping tags: SCI-FI

DR. HORRIBLE: BEST FRIENDS FOREVER [2018]

The cult classic returns for a one-shot from the incomparable Joss Whedon! “Dr. Horrible is back, and he’s brought his best friend with him… Captain Hammer? The timestream has been breached, and who’s to blame but the missus of time herself, Hourglass. But things are a bit peculiar in this semmingly present day with arch nemeses Dr. Horrible and Captain Hammer teaming up. If that’s possible, then what else is? Revisit the hilarity, wit, and charm of Dr. Horrible in this unbelievable story of preposterous possibilities featuring cameos from some of the series’ most horrible villians.” Buy It Now Related shopping tags: DR.
