WELCOME Hello, comic fans! The tide of comic-related television and film productions continues most recently with the release of OCTOBER FACTION and LOCKE & KEY. There’ll be so many more this year, I’m afraid–for me–the personal time commitment to properly watch them all won’t leave enough time left over to raise my children. (Who am I kidding, there’s probably plenty of YouTube videos they can watch to raise themselves.) The catalog this month is heavy on BLACK WIDOW and WONDER WOMAN offerings, as those two movies are only a couple months out. Both look to be spectacular, to be sure. But, my first love has always been the comic books themselves. (Don’t tell my wife.) As always, let us know […]

ROGUE PLANET [2020] #1

An exciting-looking, new, sci-fi, horror series from Cullen Bunn! “Salvage vessel Cortes tracks the Lonely Orphan, a planet with no star system to call its own. Somewhere on this hostile rock is a payload fit for a king. To attain it, though, the crew of the Cortes must brave razor rock, poisonous vapors, treacherous footing, and… the most mind-numbing horrors imaginable. Something nightmarish is at work on Lonely Orphan. Something cruel. Something hungry.” Pre-Order Now Related shopping tags: CULLEN BUNN (W), SCI-FI

BOYS: DEAR BECKY [2020] #1

This should be well received. “Twelve years after the events of The Boys, Hughie finds himself back home in Scotland where he intends to finally marry Annie in the company of friends and family. But the sudden appearance of a peculiar document sends our hero into a tailspin and threatens to bring the events of his nightmarish past crashing down on him in the worst possible way. There was one story about The Boys that Hughie never knew. Now, whether he likes it or not, he’s going to.” Pre-Order Now Related shopping tags: BOYS, THE, GARTH ENNIS (W)

DOCTOR APHRA [2020] #1

New crew. New mission. Can’t miss. “NEW CREW, NEW MISSION. With the Rebel Alliance back on the run after their defeat at the Battle of Hoth, it’s never been a more dangerous time for outlaws, scoundrels and the errant rogue archaeologist to make their way in the galaxy. But after a string of bad luck and near escapes, DOCTOR APHRA is back on the job. She’s been keeping a low profile – jobs are scarce and credits scarcer. But the promise of the score of a lifetime is a chance too good for her to pass up. And to find the cursed RINGS OF VAALE, Aphra will need a crew of treasure hunters the likes of which the galaxy has […]

Seriously cool homage, this one… “Thanks to the combined efforts of Nightmare, Dormammu and the Hobgoblin, the universe is fracturing like you’ve never seen before – REALITY ITSELF IS COLLAPSING. The team behind the original Symbiote Spider-Man series closes out the second volume with a BANG. You won’t want to miss this one. Rated T.” Pre-Order Now Interested in Getting Started In SPIDER-MAN (PETER PARKER) comic books? Check out our guide here. First Impression: ADVENTUREMAN [2020] #1

This one looks pretty good. I like both Matt Fraction and the artists Dodson. “SERIES PREMIERE. A CATACLYSMIC ADVENTURE DECADES IN THE MAKING. In this WILDLY AFFORDABLE TRIPLE-LENGTH FIRST ISSUE, revisit how the legend of the greatest pulp hero of them all, ADVENTUREMAN, ended in a heartbreaking CLIFFHANGER with our hero facing execution at the vile hand of his ultra-nemesis BARON BIZARRE on the eve of the MACABRAPOCALYPSE…or did it? Eighty years after his apparent demise, single mother Claire and her Adventurefan son Tommy seem to be the only two people alive that remember the thrilling ADVENTUREMAN sagas…but from that memory burns THE SPARK OF RESURRECTION. WHERE HIS STORY ENDED…HER STORY BEGINS. This sense-obliterating, earth-shaking, imagination-quaking adventure that spans generations […]
